ASPRS and the ASPRS Foundation Announce the New ASPRS Fairness Fund Award
The Awards Committee of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and the ASPRS Foundation announce the new ASPRS Fairness Fund Award for the 2026 application cycle. The scholarship will be for the initial amount of $800, with potential for the award amount to grow in future years.
This award is designed to ensure that all ASPRS members have opportunities within the geospatial profession by providing financial support to members who require resources to achieve professional growth and excellence
Highly skilled and motivated individuals, including students, early career professionals, and academics (within five years of attaining a geospatial professional position) who face barriers to their professional development are encouraged to apply.
All members of ASPRS are eligible to apply, regardless of their current professional standing or stage in career development, if they face equity gaps in their career advancement. To be considered for the award, applicants must submit an on-line application that includes the following items:
- A two-page statement describing the candidate’s geospatial professional goals, challenges and financial need, along with how this award is important to address such challenges.
- At least two letters of recommendation from a faculty member, employer or professional colleague who can attest to the applicant’s accomplishments, capabilities and potential.
- Professional portfolio, resume or CV.
- Any two of the following additional documents that support the application: academic transcripts, published articles or examples of work or professional involvement.
Further information and application details will be available on the ASPRS web site in the early Fall.
